Badam Milk

26 01 2008

This is also one those drinks that can be termed as Karnataka Special. It is a drink that not only can be enjoyed in hot or cold form to quench thirst, it is very healthy too. At least I enjoy it once everyday. Few company’s like MTR, Nandini etc are also into the sale of the ready made badam powder, which makes it easy to make the delicacy. However, I like this one, completely home made…

  • Pre-cooking – 6 hours
  • For cooking – 10 minutes

To Serve –

4

Ingredients –

  1. Milk – 4 glasses
  2. Badam – 10
  3. Kesar – 2 to 3 strands
  4. Khus Khus – 1/2 tsp

Preparation –

1)Soak Badam in water for 6 hours. After 6hours peel it and grind it to a smooth paste.

2)Boil the milk and add kesar and khus khus to the same. Add the badam paste made. Serve it hot and steaming…

3)Take little milk and kesar in a small morter & pestle and grind it until kesar leaves its colour and flavor. Now put milk, badam paste, ice cubes, kesar extract and khus khus in the mixer and whip it 2-3 times. Serve it cold….

Enjoy maadi… whichever season it gets…
